It is said that ginseng cannot be taken in summer, or people is easy to suffer from excessive internal heat, which is one-sided. If people behave according to it, then, people who are sick in summer need ginseng, won’t they wait until the autumn or winter? Experts affirm that ginseng can be taken in summer with a slight difference in winter on the amount and type. There is a variety of ginseng: fresh ginseng, dried white ginseng (sun-dried ginseng), dried red ginseng (red ginseng), ginseng root, and ginseng powder and ginseng products presented by ginseng saponin. Many kinds of ginseng can be taken in summer, such as fresh ginseng, sun-dried ginseng, ginseng root, ginseng powder, ginseng saponin, ginseng dropping. So, can red ginseng be taken? Of course, it is but with quantity control. For example, the amount of ginseng taken in winter is less than 5 grams, while 3 grams in summer. Other kinds of ginseng taken in summer should also be slightly less than that in fall and winter, which can be controlled flexibly according to your own physical condition and different diseases. For example, people from the south and the northeast have different feelings of taking ginseng. As long as southerners often eat ginseng without excessive amount, they generally do not suffer from excessive internal heat; while even if northeasters eat ginseng with the same amount as the southerners, some people will suffer from excessive internal heat, which means it is advisable that the amount of taking ginseng for the northeast people should be fewer than southerners. Specifically speaking, if southerner takes ginseng 1.5 g each time, the northeast people 1 g each time is ok. Twice a day is appropriate, while three times in winter. It is no problem that people drink ginseng a few times a day, with the limit of 3 grams a day in summer and 5 grams in winter. It is suggested that American ginseng had better be taken in summer.
