Where there are purple clouds floating over in the air, there is ginseng in the soil

As a book about charms, omens, etc. about 2000 years ago in the late Han Dynasty goes: where there is ginseng in the soil, there are purple clouds floating over in the air, which means that if there is ginseng buried in the soil, where there’ll appear purple clouds in the air. It doesn’t mean that ancient people intended to deify ginseng. In the Changbai Mountainous areas 2000 years later, there also appear similar phenomena.
In the late April of 2003, when it was fruitful season for wild vegetable picking in the Changbai Mountainous areas. One morning Caofa from Huinan Forest Management Bureau, Jilin Province, China, together with other three was picking wild vegetables , when there appeared a violet light ahead about 7 meters high straight up and down. The four people were so surprised that they stopped to watch. Four hours later the violet light disappeared. The four were too upset to go on picking wild vegetables and went back home, and told what they saw to the old experienced man who lives on digging gingseng. He told them there must be ginseng in the soil nearby the violet light.
The next day, the four together with the old man did find 7 ginseng in the soil nearby the place where the violet light appeared. In 2004, there frequently appeared light above the forest in Dacheng Hot Spring Mountain Villa in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, which startled the Guards in the Mountain Villa. They made investigations several times, but didn’t find the reason. Someone in the Mountain Villa happened to think of the event happened in September in 2003, when the eminent monk Fazang from Taiwan held the medallion ceremony for the Jade Buddha and he ever said there must be big wild ginseng on the mountain around the mountain villa, and they must be very big. However, they wouldn’t be found until fullness of time. One of the staff, whose surname is Ji, indeed found as many as 15 ginseng on the mountain. After the president of Mountain Villa heard of the story, he himself search for ginseng in the mountain. Finally he discovered a very marvelous seven-leafs ginseng. It was amazing!

Some specialists at home or abroad said that it is reasonable that only under the circumstances of the combination of natural aura heaven and earth can ginseng grow up.The old man living on digging wild ginseng knows the fact that where there are purple clouds, there is ginseng, but nobody can unveil the mystery since Xihan Dynasty more than 2000 years ago.

Where there is big ginseng, there must be a serpent Guarding around

In many legendries about ginseng there are stories about serpent guarding ginseng. It is said that if the serpent eats the fruit of ginseng, it can live forever. At the present age, the man living on digging wild ginseng often runs into the serpent nearby the wild ginseng, seemingly guarding ginseng. For example, Lou Daoju , from Huinan County, Jilin Province, China in1993, was looking after cows in the forest at Ertuowan, when she found a big ginseng under a Korean pine. Just as she was walking towards to watch it over, she glimpsed at a big serpent coiling around the trunk. It seems to guard the ginseng from violating. Lou Daoju et al mustered up courage to drive the serpent away and dug out the ginseng which weighs 0.2 kilos and is sold at the price of 220,000.
On the morning of July 29th, 2004 , Ren Zhiqiang ,the general manager and Gong Piguo, the head of the security forces from Dalian Chengyuan Hot Spring Mountain Villa went into the mountain to inspect. Suddenly they found a big serpent as wide as the mouth of the bowl coiling nearby the big ginseng. Meanwhile the serpent is also aware of the appearance of the two uninvited guests and then pounced on them shockedly. Ren Zhiqiang fled away in such a flurry that he was stumbled and rolled down the mountain.
The seven-leaf ginseng has one big and two small fruits with as many as 200 grains, which is unprecedented.
Someone wanted to buy it at the price of 50 million, but he was rejected by the person in charge of the mountain villa.
The old man living on digging ginseng said that it may be reasonable that the serpent guards around the ginseng so as to eat ginseng fruit to strengthen its health and ward off illness for it is not legendary for some animals to cure themselves with wild herbs by instinct.
